I had some skillets, but the nonstick, as advertised, didn’t stick. I thought — silly me — “nonstick” meant the FOOD wouldn’t stick to the pan, not the COATING wouldn’t stick to the pan. So I looked up what Gordon Ramsey recommended, and apparently Hexclad pays a pretty good price for endorsements, and that’s what I bought. So far, so good. I splurged and replaced all my skillets, plus they gave me a chicken frying pan for being such a big sucker — good customer, plus I bought a wok. Didn’t have one. Wanted one. Got one. As the snotty chef maintained in WOK OF LOVE, it IS too heavy for me and my wrists CAN’T handle it. But it works pretty well if I just let it sit there and cook, and an oven mitt lets me double-hand it if I need to.
I had planned to go to a local festival called Glasstoberfest, sponsored by Zimmerman Art Glass Factory and featuring brats and beer. But it was cold out and I was comfy and cozy, so I didn’t go.
In anticipation of going, though, I did my nails appropriately, with brats, beer, falling leaves, punkins, a glass ornament, and a glass paperweight.

October 19, 2026 at 8:02amI look forward to the food-Tuesday posts in the future. I don’t imagine we’ll see stir-fried brats, but I’ve learned that you lean toward the unconventional, so…
Cool nails!
