PURRS in the City #ThursdayDoors

Is this Thursday Doors, or is this Caturday? My publisher, Per Bastet Publications, took part in the Animal Protection Association‘s PURRS in the City fundraiser. It’s one of the annual events the APA puts on to raise money for their cat rescue operations.

Since I’m one of the owners of Per Bastet, I went over crackadawn to set up our table.

Nice door! Nice lights!

Cute sign!

Some of the beneficiaries displayed inside — in front of a door!

The event took place in a church’s parish hall. Many fine arts, crafts — AND BOOKS — for sale. I bought plenty. For the kitties, Charlie, for the kitties! These accordion things: doors or walls?

I hope the event was as successful for the APA as it was for Per Bastet! Great event!

On the way home, I had to catch a couple of drive-by doors.

Like the old Carnegie library.

And the newer, modern, (to me, ugly) library.

Almost home….

‘Xausted, but happy.

Doors, or cats. It’s hard to choose – Doors and cats – perfect! I really like the old Carnegie Library. Modern libraries are so much function over form…blah.

I agree about most modern libraries I’ve seen. Too many of them look like penitentiaries for books.

I like that, “penitentiaries for books.” Yep, great phrasing. Not a fan of much of anything modern, personally. Glad you bought some things for the kitties πŸ˜‰

I liked that fun sign too, but that old library is just glorious!
I don’t necessarily dislike newer, more modern ones, but most of them just lack that old style charm πŸ™‚

The new one, as Jesh says, is spacious and well-lit, but I don’t like the exterior as much as I do the old one. I was so pleased, when I went back to my old alma mater, to see that they had incorporated the facade of the old library into the design of the new one!

The old library is wonderful, although even if ugly, I like a good library. It’s the books that count, but beauty is a great plus. πŸ™‚

“It’s the books that count” — Janet, I couldn’t agree more, when it gets right down to it!

The sculpture in front of the modern library I’m interested in…I like the inside of the library more – spacious and good lighting:)

Yes, I wish I could have gotten a better snap of the sculpture. Maybe some day I’ll be on foot there. That library IS a very fine one, even if I don’t like the exterior!
