I spent the night with #4 Daughter, the amazing Sara Marian, and her amazing fella, Zak. They took me out to eat at Ramsi’s Cafe on the World, which is actually on Bardstown Road but whatever. It looks very upscale, but it’s super food for regular people. Not that you can spit on the floor or anything, but it isn’t someplace Frasier and Niles would gloat over.
ANYWAY, imagine my delight, when I found that Ramsi’s is not only home to great food, but also to a plethora (GOD, I love that word!) of doors.
The entrance.
And the all these!
On the way out, a lighted fountain!
And the door out.
Now, this picture is only funny if you’re familiar with the Louisville’s Hometown Heroes campaign. If you don’t want to follow the link, I’ll just tell you that there are these YUGE vinyl banners all over Louisville with pictures of famous and/or important people who were born or lived a long time or claimed Louisville. So, this.
Yes, boys and girls, Hunter S. Thompson was born in Louisville. Incidentally, Johnny Depp, who played him in a movie, was also born in Kentucky.
A WRITING PROMPT BASED ON MY POST: A character has a plethora of doors among which to choose.

November 9, 2017 at 7:46amHaha! I’m not into where Frasier and Niles dine. Although, I wouldn’t wanna dine at Martin’s place where they wheel around cuts of beef and cut off ties, either…
Gorgeous outdoor scene there! That is a plethora! And I LOVE the banners. I love Louisville.

November 9, 2017 at 8:03amI love the banners, too. Unfortunately, I can’t look at them when I’m driving, because where I look, I steer. Eyes on the road — ON THIS ROAD.

November 9, 2017 at 8:48amI really really like these doors! Iβm sure Fraiser and Niles would approve. I particularly like the doors with the metal grills.

November 10, 2017 at 1:57pmThis place was amazing! I looked at the menu and was like, “I’ll have everything, please.” And there was something beautiful and interesting everywhere you looked.

November 9, 2017 at 11:06amThese are such pretty pictures. I love all the intricate carving on the doors. And non-weeping angels are always nice to see. π

November 10, 2017 at 1:58pmNon-weeping angels are good. The doors were all beautiful and/or intriguing. What a treat!

November 9, 2017 at 5:10pmYou certainly hit the door jackpot on this outing. Those “just for looks” ones leaning against that wall are the cream of this crop.
Sounds like a fun evening π

November 10, 2017 at 2:00pmThere were probably more doors in other rooms, but the place was PACKED! I had a great evening — my first evening out for a long time, not counting work.

November 9, 2017 at 5:38pmCoincidentally I used “plethora” this week… I think it has to now be a door-word…. when you are immersed in so many doors you can’t cut off… Nice doors you found Marian, but whats with the new word Yuge? Is it a sign of the times? π

November 10, 2017 at 2:02pmI saw that you used “plethora,” too! Maybe “plethora” is the new “whatevs”. lol! I agree — it needs to be a door-word. As for “yuge,” in some parts of America, people don’t sound the “h” in “huge,” and it comes out sounding like “yuge.” At least two of our most recent presidential candidates said it.

November 9, 2017 at 9:44pmOoh, I really like the fountain, and the way out door! I too think Niles, and Fraiser would approve.

November 10, 2017 at 2:03pmNiles and Frasier SHOULD approve of Ramsi’s, if they like good food! And I think the fountain and the out door were my favorite things, too. π
