This Saturday–second Saturday in August–is Community Unity’s annual World on the Square celebration. 🙂

My church’s Second Saturday Supper Club–Corydon Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) no we don’t handle snakes– is coming for the first time, and I’m afraid there won’t be any food left at the free tasting buffet by the time they get there. It’s supposed to be a taste of the world, but so many people take full portions of everything, all the food goes too quickly and all that’s left at the end is nachos.

So I’m going to make a couple of things and hold them back until the church folks are scheduled to show up, enough for them and then some.

I think I’m going to make pasta e fagioli–also known as pasta fazool. It’s good as a soup and, if it sits around too long, as a stove-top casserole because the pasta has absorbed all the liquid. I think I’m going to use Rachel Ray’s recipe.

I think I’ll also make an English trifle. I found this coolio generic mix and match list, so I think I’ll use that as a guide.
