Name That Dieting Skull Any Day, Old Chap

My first Friday Recommends for two months, and I almost forgot it! ~shakes head sadly~

How about a baby name, for a baby or a pet or a character you’re writing? Why not visit the Country of Baby Names to search one out? If you, as I do, have a rough parallel in mind between an Earth culture and your fantasy/sf culture, or if you have a character from (or with an ethnic heritage from) one country or another, you can search names by country of origin. Not EVERY INDIAN has the last name of Patel, okay?

Maybe you’re trying to gain weight or trying to lose weight or just trying to eat according to some particular proportion of carbs/fat/protein. This Free Dieting site may be what you need. You can input the style of diet you want to try, the number of calories you need to eat, and the number of meals you’ll be eating, and the calculator will … you know … calculate what you need to eat (on average) at each meal.

You’ll probably find it at the Tapir and Friends Animal Store. Like this Australopithecus skull. I know, right? It is the awesome of the awesome! You can also get animal-shaped jewelry, squeaky toys, statuettes, beaded food-shaped keyrings, shirts, 3-D puzzles and SO MUCH MORE. It’s crazycakes!

Want to know what day of the week it was on January 1, 203, calculated by our current calendar? I’ll tell you the answer, in case they ever ask it on Jeopardy. The answer is: “What was Saturday?” That’s only one of the many time-wasting useful resources you’ll find at CalculatorCat. Moon phases. World clock. Your age in dog years. And … GO!

Mom and I enjoy reading British mysteries and, of course, Terry Pratchett, but sometimes we go, “What?” when we encounter what is apparently a word or phrase that doesn’t translate well. Now I know I can go to The Very Best of British and possibly find an explanation. Thank you, Dr. Effingpot.

A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: There is a mix-up with somebody’s name.

I have to confess – I fell for the title. It did occur to me on the way here that if I had to eat everything out of an empty Australopithecus skull, I’d either die of starvation or grow very fat, depending on which side of my quirky personality came out to play, and who was around to horrify with my shenanigans. 😉 Don’t tempt me.
