I had donuts for breakfast, because adult, and it made me think of this childhood song which I imagine you all know:

Oh, I went downtown and I walked around the block
and I went right into a pastry shop.
I fished me a donut out of the grease
and I handed the lady a five cent piece.
"Just a minute," she says to me,
she says, "this nickle's no good. You see?
There's a hole in the middle and it goes right through!"

Sing it with me, now….

Says I, “There’s a hole in the donut, too.”

If you knew my Uncle Elmore, you would add a totally unrelated couplet, but you’re not, so I don’t expect it. It’s all good.

About

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.
