The Handsome Monkey Cat

This week, I’ve been indulging in two of my obsessions. Well, three, if you include my chatting up a total stranger in a coffee shop when I saw him drawing plans for a tiny house. No, chatting up total strangers isn’t one of my obsessions; tiny houses are. Okay, four obsessions.

ANYWAY, while I was sitting with Charlie in the hospital, when he took a nap, I took to using my phone and the hospital wi-fi to access Pinterest and pin pictures of

The Handsome Monkey King, aka Sun Wukong, from Journey to the West

Monkeyand Behemoth, the black cat from The Master And Margarita.

catActually, that’s Al, short for Alexander Russianpants, our #4 Daughter‘s late cat. He was about as far from being a demon as it’s possible to be without actually being a benevolent God, but he LOOKS right.

Here are my Pinterest boards: MarianAllena Don’t ask me where that “a” on the end came from, ’cause I don’t know. I think my finger slipped as I hit Enter and the account was set up that way, and I was too frazzled by that time to care. Jumping through hoops is not my favorite pastime. Drinking beer Reading classic literature is my favorite pastime.

If you should decide to read The Master and Margarita, which I highly recommend, allow me to further recommend the Mirra Ginsburg translation. It really does make a difference. Read it at least twice. At least.

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.
