I got a Kindle Fire for cheap and the first app I downloaded was Minecraft. I had to buy it again, maybe because the Kindle platform is different from the Android one, which bummed me out, but it doesn’t cost much.
ANYWAY, this new one has a more complicated interface (to me). Like, look at what I get when I hit the inventory button.
Crazy cakes!
But the good part is, it comes with tips. Not very good tips, but tips.
So I’m back Minecrafting.
Oh! Also: I have two horses. The close one is Horace. The one in the background is Maurice Chevalier. The duck is Drake. The black thing in the sky is not a bird, it’s a bat. It flies all day and all night. I call it Ever-ready.
I’m also posting today at Fatal Foodies on the subject of cabbage.
A WRITING PROMPT BASED ON MY POST: A character returns to a pursuit or profession they had left and finds it both the same and different.

November 7, 2017 at 7:25amThe newer Kindles support the Google Play store. I have a Fire HD8 and get all my apps from it. I think it’s the level of the operating system. I don’t have mine with me right now, but I’ll check what level it is for you.

November 7, 2017 at 7:52amI didn’t even try downloading from the Google Play store! This one is kinda confusing, but I like the in-game help, and I like that I can make fireworks. I haven’t made any, because I didn’t know I COULD until after I’d passed up a chest with gunpowder in it. Since I don’t ‘splode stuff, I never mess with the gunpowder. I will now, though! FIREWORKS!

November 7, 2017 at 12:06pmHere are the instructions I used on how to do it:

It’s actually not that complicated. Most complicated thing is doing the installs in the right order. It doesn’t work otherwise.

November 7, 2017 at 2:33pmSince I don’t play games (unless you consider Scrabble a game; I consider it my pal while waiting on line), I have no idea. Except I would expect the graphics to be far better than that demonstrated by your screen shots.

November 7, 2017 at 3:35pmThose graphics are A Thing, Roy. I don’t know why they chose to make it look so old-school, but that’s the look. I don’t know why. The eggs are egg-shaped and the fish are fish-shaped, but everything else is deliberately pixilated-looking. 😀

November 7, 2017 at 3:37pmHorace the horse. Right on. Also, boiled cabbage is my preferred cabbage delivery, but I like it ANY way.

November 7, 2017 at 5:11pmBoiled cabbage always makes me think of elementary school music class, which I loved. ‘Member? “Boil that cabbage down, boys. Turn that hoe-cake round. The only song I ever did sing is Boil That Cabbage Down.” LOL

November 7, 2017 at 5:31pmI do not recall that song at all :/

November 9, 2017 at 11:43amI needed some time in the quiet to watch that. I remember the Smothers brothers from childhood and also used to get them confused with the Smuckers brothers on the ads… I actually feel like I’ve seen the program the Boil That Cabbage Down set… That is sooooo familiar to me!
Thanks for sharing.
