Fancy From Leftovers #Food

We were having people for lunch. — Let me rephrase that: We had invited a couple of people to come have lunch with us. It was just going to be snacky stuff, so we got some sliced turkey and cranberry relish. But Charlie kinda sorta wanted a fancy-ish dessert, so we got some phyllo cups and blueberry pie filling. I was going to mix spices into the pie filling and put it in the little cups and drizzle it with a mixture of lemon juice and confectioner’s sugar.

But both our guests had to cancel, so that didn’t happen.

Even little crusty cups will go stale, if you don’t use them, so I decided to use them for supper one night. And I made these two things:

Jus’ reg’lar ol’ tuna salad
Sliced turkey and cranberry relish

Very nice and tasty. We enjoyed eating regular stuff all kinda fancied up.

We either lead very dull lives, or very full ones, depending on how you look at it.

I’m posting today at Fatal Foodies about a vegan casserole I made for Memorial Day.

Nice recovery. It’s good you weren’t really planing on having them for lunch, then you would have gone hungry.

Good point. WHAT IF WE WERE CANNIBALS? Canceling on us was damned thoughtless, in that case.

Bah, Setffie would have brought you fine young cannibals a nice treat.

Chicken a la Justin T, or Turkey a la Donald T….
With my luck, it would be Stew a la Pete!

    As Allen Sherman sang:
Jolly Mow Mows, underneath the jungle sky.
Jolly Mow Mows, eating missionary pie!
    — “Hungarian Goulash, hey!”

What do you mean I am weird, eccentric, strange, touched in the head, and spammish?
I have been this way for 60 some years!

Better to eat a nice hamburger! Or a nice, homemade, light crust, chicken pot pie. Or a delicious ham, coated in pineapple. Yes, I am a glutton!

Well, Steggie is not scared. SHE invited herself to dinner!

Me? I just figure I am one of those guys with great taste!

My mum used to make half pork, half beef, tourtiere meat pies.
Must ask my sis if she still has the recipe!

Yesss, Lady, yes! I will eat anything in puff pastry, I swear. I make my own, never bought the things, and I haven’t put spray cheese and pepperoni in them because I don’t like those things, but if I were out and someone offered me puff pastry with spray cheese and pepperoni, I WOULD TRY ONE! 😛
