Time 4 Thai #ThursdayDoors

Our Janie Day this week was at Time 4 Thai on Frankfort Avenue in Louisville. I got something that was supposed to be noodles, vegetables, and chicken strips, but turned out to be a bowl of noodles with four carrot slices and half a dozen jagged strips of pressboard. Everybody else’s dish was delicious, and I’m all about noodles, so I was not entirely displeased.

But this isn’t a restaurant review, it’s a Thursday Doors post. Gallery below. But, if you go to Time 4 Thai, I can’t recommend the Bangkok Noodle Bowl unless you’re as nuts for noodles as I am. I’m just sayin’.

We had bad Thai a coupla years ago and still have not recovered from our ick response. Think Pad Thai, but instead, Bad Thai.
    I LOVE NOODLES.

I would go to this place again, but I would sure-to-Pete get something else.

Sorry your meal wasn’t so good, but it happens. I like Thai food but I stick with pad thai as my go-to first choice. I figure if a place makes that to my liking then I’ll try something different the next time I’m there.

Pad Thai is usually MY go-to, but #4 Daughter raved about this dish. The cook must have had a hate on for fried chicken or something the day I went. We were there at opening, so maybe the cook hadn’t waked up yet. I WILL try this place again, because the noodles were SO GOOD.

Pressed cardboard is how I feel about any chicken dish in a restaurant. Never order. It’s a weird thing and I eat everything, but only have chicken at home.

I’ve never had bad Thai food. I don’t eat it very often (maybe that’s why) but it’s usually good and I usually get something with chicken and noodles. Sorry yours was less than good.

Eh. It happens. It was worth the price, for the noodles, not to mention the company. πŸ™‚

Too bad the food was not what you expected. The swinging door to the kitchen is a keeper though πŸ™‚

I love swinging doors, and I love fancy doors, so this one charmed me!

The decor is very inviting. I loved the shelf/room divider that has a stair-step design. Very eye-catching. It’s a shame your food wasn’t as big a wow, but if everyone else liked their dishes, maybe it was a one-off? I’ve tried a few restaurants twice before calling it no-good in general. That said, if you can’t do a basic bowl of noodles that is a national dish right, what hope do they really have?

The noodles were stellar, so I’ll definitely go there again. That stair-step divider caught my eye, too. πŸ™‚

You now have me hungry for Thai food. We have a very good restaurant not far from us, but you have to be a bit careful of the spice level. πŸ™‚

That was another thing about this place. I ordered spice level 1 and one of my friends ordered spice level 4. The waiter was doubtful, but he put the order in. Neither of our dishes was the least bit spicy. The waiter brought spice pots to the table, and we hotted ours up to taste. #4 Daughter said that when her SO orders spice level 4, the chef comes out and makes sure he means it, but he didn’t do us that courtesy. Must have been a different chef, which would explain my food being less than great.
