Panoramic Fantasy Maps Make Cowdog Rant #FridayRecommends

Welcome to #FridayRecommends, in which I recommend books, films, online videos, web sites, etc., and mash them together into one clickbaity title.

Have you seen this site of panoramic photographs? It’s part of the Library of Congress Prints and Photographs Online Catalog. The Library of Congress web site is made almost entirely of awesome. I mean. Y’all.

This next site ain’t purty, but it could be useful. It’s called Fantasy Mapmaking 101, and it walks you through … wait for it … making fantasy maps.

Now, if you ain’t met Hank the Cowdog, you ain’t up to date on modern law enforcement. Hank is Head of Ranch Security, keeping the place safe from coyotes, buzzards, cats, and more. Fun to read, even more fun to listen to. Mosey on over and get a load of Hank and his pals.

I may have shared this before, but it never fails to crack me up.

Enjoy!

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Is there a song you absolutely hate? Why? I absolutely hate, loathe, and despise “Horse With No Name”, possibly because it rhymes “name” with “rain,” but probably because the played it ALL the TIME at one of the most irritable points in my life. Ugh.

About

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.
