I’ve been trying to install Zorin Linux on a desktop with NO luck whatsoever. I did manage to murder an installation of Windows 8, so that’s progress.
Downloaded two different Zorins–Lite and Core, and neither one will load from the thumb drive. Tried burning it with two different programs, tried it from a Windows 7 computer and from a Zorin computer.
No joy.
I’ve ordered a live CD, and I’ll see how that works.
Meanwhile, I keep thinking of one of the taglines popular back in the dear, dead BBS days:

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: What has frustrated you this week?

April 24, 2019 at 7:36amHi Marian,
In response to your prompt, I have to say that purchasing a new smartphone has topped the list for all-time most frustrating experience. Firstly, what’s the collusion between app developers and mobile manufacturers? In an age where desktop software is supported for at least a decade, why do apps fail after only two “generations” of Android OS upgrades?
And, why do I need Samsung Cloud on a Google phone???
There’s more, but I refuse to continue ranting like a T-rex in a digital La Brea pit.
Cheers,
Mitch

April 24, 2019 at 12:26pmThey’ve carried this ‘feature, not bug’ thing far too far: my new showerhead has the fact that the thing won’t shut off completely – plastic valves are notorious – in the manual as deliberate.
It’s hard to make a proper shutoff valve, so they just didn’t bother!

April 24, 2019 at 9:01pmMarian, I did math and data entry of said math for THREE HOURS today, and I almost cried in frustration twice — yet I still believe your suffering was greater. ((((HUGS))))
