Hi there! I’m Tipper Allen, and guess what? Momma is being a slacker this year on Story A Day May. She only wrote a tiny story yesterday, and she does one of them the first of every month anyway, so I don’t think that counts. And today is Caturday, and Chickie and I take turns doing her blog on Caturday, so today doesn’t count, either.
Momma says nobody can lose the Story A Day Challenge, but I think she’s wimping out. What do you think?
Anyway, here’s my story:
The Cat Who Came In From the Cold
Sniffie was the most glamorous cat you ever saw. His coat was pure white. That’s why everybody called him a spook.

He prowled the most dangerous neighborhoods with no fear, and took the riskiest assignments his handlers, M and P, offered.
He ate only the finest kibble. His favorite drink was fresh water, shaken, not stirred.
Then, one day, he noticed he was being followed. There was a gang of cats in the neighborhood, terrorizing the local wildlife, and Sniffie knew where they all lived. He informed on them all, but there were too many of them; they learned where he lived, too.
“I’m sorry,” M said. “You’ve been irremediably compromised. P and I have decided to take you out of the field. We’re putting you in Witness Protection.”
So Sniffie retired. He even altered his appearance, so the bad cats wouldn’t recognize him, even if they stumbled across him.

They’d better hope they never did.
THE END
Chickie: Tell them that’s my picture you used at the end. Special guest appearance by Chickie. Tell them that.
Special guest appearance by Chickie, as Sniffie in disguise. Happy?
Chickie: My turn next week! I wonder if Mommy will write a story herself tomorrow.
Your guess is as good as mine.
A WRITING PROMPT FOR ANIMALS: Are there bad animals where you live?
