Christmas always makes me think of Pogo Possum, a comic strip my grandfather, mother, and I loved. It was by Walt Kelly, and featured the animal denizens of the Okefenokee Swamp.
I can remember my grandfather singing me this Kelly Christmas carol:
Deck Us All With Boston Charlie.
Kelly, of course, is responsible for two other well-known one-liners:
We have met the enemy, and he is us.
and:
Don’t take life so serious, it ain’t nohow permanent.
This post is part of Linda G. Hills weekly blog hop, One-Liner Wednesday. If you have a one-liner or just like them, follow the link.
