Happy Ending #1LinerWeds

Okay, one final story about That Boss, because it leads to my favorite one-liner I’ve ever delivered ever.

Years after I left the job, worked other places, got married, adopted and gave birth to daughters, Charlie and I went to a concert. Who should I see but That Boss! I said hello, reminded him of who I was, and told Charlie, “You remember I told you about when I worked for four bosses? Well, this is the bad one.”

Perhaps understandably, That Boss took the opportunity to get the knife in. He said, “You quit to become a writer, didn’t you? How did that work out for ya?”

To which I replied:

I’m a writer.

This post is part of Linda G. Hillย’s weekly blog hop, One-Liner Wednesday. If you have a one-liner or just like them, follow the link.

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Write about a dream fulfilled.

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

Thanks, Teagan! May your soul be in heaven half an hour before the devil knows you’re dead. (My favorite Irish blessing.)

That’s why you’re an awesome writer…cause you’re quick-QUICK with the wit, and putting words together that go BOOM! Right when you need them. WOW! I never in a gazillion years would have delivered a retort that great. High 5!!! I’m bowing now in case you’re wondering. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€
