What It Was, What It Is #GISH #MondayRecommends #NailArt #HelloManiology

I GISHed this past Saturday. GISH used to be called GISHWES (the Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World has Ever Seen). Like so:

The realio-trulio GISH hunt is a week long and happens in August. Never done it, prolly never will. But I did a weekend-long one and I did this six-hour-long one this past Saturday. I am totally not up to the standards of the people who’ve been GISHing since 2011, but it’s fun. I mean, I may register, since the fee goes to charity, but I prolly won’t even try to do the challenges.

It’s so much fun, whether you actually DO stuff or just enjoy the stuff other people do or simply dig the special (Zoom) guests.

GISH

Highly recommended.

And here are my nails for this week. The blue base is Cascade Polish’s Dance Magic (David Bowie — the only man allowed to sparkle). The silver base is Sally Hansen’s Crystal Chrome topped with Top Shelf’s Diamonds Are … A Girl’s Best Friend. The blue stamping polish is Maniology’s Shibori. The silver stamping polish is Maniology’s So Metal. The stamping plate is Maniology’s Maniology X Kelli Marissa BM-XL213. Don’t forget your sticky base coat, your smudge-free top coat, and your quick-dry top coat.

Question: How long does it take me to do my nails?

Answer: It depends on how often I screw up and have to start over and how complicated I get with my design. Generally, a couple of hours. But I do them with #4 Daughter, and we drink beer and listen to music and talk, so who’s counting?

Um, I’m feeling kind of stupid but I’m still not sure what a GISH hunt is?

I think there’s something wrong with my links not showing up in my posts. 🙁 GISH is the Greatest Internet Scavenger Hunt. As soon as the Hunt begins, GISH posts a list of “items”, like “decorate a cupcake like General Princess Leia in honor of strong women” or “dress up as your favorite food” or “paint a portrait on a pair of blue jeans using dry mustard or bleach”. But that’s the at-home edition; I haven’t participated in the full-fledged, non-pandemic Hunt, so I don’t know what those items would be. It always involves Random Acts of Kindness and raising money for charity. This year, in six hours, we raised enough money to buy food, PPE, and oxygen concentrators for 1500 people in India. 🙂

Oh! Now I see. What a brilliant idea. Not sure I’d be willing to sacrifice a pair of jeans though. Bravo you, and in a truly dire cause. -hugs-

That’s one I didn’t do, but some of the art I saw wasn’t a sacrifice. I would TOTALLY wear them after they were decorated.
