Hooray For The Pooh! #MondayRecommends #Nails

Saturday, I posted about foxes. Yesterday, I posted about wopses. So, naturally, my mind went to A. A. Milne, creator of Winnie the Pooh, specifically to this poem:

The Three Foxes

by A. A. Milne

Once upon a time there were three little foxes
Who didn’t wear stockings, and they didn’t wear sockses,
But they all had handkerchiefs to blow their noses,
And they kept their handkerchiefs in cardboard boxes.

They lived in the forest in three little houses,
And they didn’t wear coats, and they didn’t wear trousies.
They ran through the woods on their little bare tootsies,
And they played ‘Touch last’ with a family of mouses.

They didn’t go shopping in the High Street shopses,
But caught what they wanted in the woods and copses.
They all went fishing, and they caught three wormses,
They went out hunting, and they caught three wopses.

They went to a Fair, and they all won prizes—
Three plum-puddingses and three mince-pieses.
They rode on elephants and swang on swingses,
And hit three coco-nuts at coco-nut shieses.

That’s all that I know of the three little foxes
Who kept their handkerchiefs in cardboard boxes.
They lived in the forest in three little houses,
But they didn’t wear coats and they didn’t wear trousies,
And they didn’t wear stockings and they didn’t wear sockses.

And here are my nails this week in honor of our fox babies:

The orange/red is Soothing Soul Nail Laquers’ Abydos, the gold is Maniology’s new Lost Gold, which will be available to non ManiXMe members in a few weeks, and the white is Maniology’s Bam! White. The stamping plate with leaves and foxes is Maniology M048.

And remember:

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: A happy day in the life of three baby animals.

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

Fun poem about the 3 little foxes in your forest. 😀 I’ve been waiting for years to see a fox in the daylight to get an image or a hundred. I’ve only seen 2 little kits at night and no night gear to get a shot of them. I’ve been loving your images of the ones visiting your yard!!

Haven’t seen them since SIL mowed the back yard, alas! Still, I feel very fortunate to have enjoyed them while they were here. 🙂
