HELLO! My name is CHICKIE!
Mommy says she and Poppy got married forty years ago today. I think she’s teasing! Tipper is five, and nothing could be older than that!
TIPPER: Hey!
Anyway, Mommy showed me my first picture with Poppy.
I didn’t know we were going to turn out to be best buddies, but we did!
Mommy took this picture of me behind the chair Poppy used to sit in.
Mommy says I make her feel better when she’s sad. Sometimes I try on purpose to make her laugh.
I like it when Mommy says, “Do you remember when you and Poppy” did this or that. Sometimes I do bemember, but sometimes it’s a new memory because I forgotted it from when it happened. Hearing stories about little me is fun! I’m like, “Awww, what a cute little kitty that was! Oh, yeah — IT WAS ME!”
So we’re having a happy day today, bemembering good stuff. :3

August 22, 2021 at 10:55amGreat memories, even the ones she doesn’t remember. I’m thinking she probably triggers lots of them.
Happy anniversary!

August 22, 2021 at 2:46amAh Chickie, you were so little! I remember how your Poppy would build things for you, and Tipper, but I think mostly for you. Tell your Mum that we’re thinking of her today too. -hugs-

August 23, 2021 at 8:45amFeeling weirdly good, and all the better for your asking. Maybe it was getting past that first “round number” anniversary, but I now seem to be in the zone of appreciating all I had instead of aching for it. I was told that would happen by one of my widowed friends, and I’m hoping it’s true and not just momentary. Lots of wonderful memories, of incidents large and minute. 🙂
