It feels odd not appending the #StoryADayMay hashtag, but May has ended, and so has my alarm for 6:00 AM. Guess what time I spontaneously awoke today? Now, let’s not always see the same hands. Yes, I woke, wide-eyed etc. at 6:04 AM.
ANYWAY, today’s once-liner comes, once again, from friend, archaeologist, and fellow writer Dora Abel.
She and a co-worker were looking for artifacts on the job when the conversation, as conversations are wont to do, turned to murderous bears. Dora apparently thought bears should look more like creatures that could kill you if you looked at them wrong. She said:
If dangerous, why friend-shaped?
This post is part of Linda G. Hills weekly blog hop, One-Liner Wednesday. If you have a one-liner or just like them, follow the link.
A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Any kind or shape of bear.

June 1, 2022 at 1:10pmFriend shaped? Look at the teeth and claws, and listen to one roar. Watch a video of one moving when irritated, or two fighting. And even then, supposedly if they HEAR you coming, they are more likely to go the other way – unless, and everyone knows this – it’s a meme! – you get between a mamma bear and her cubs.
Teddy bears are something entirely different – no teeth, no claws. More like a huggable pillow with ears.

June 1, 2022 at 7:50amThey do look more like cuddly fur bags than deadly creatures. Great one-liner.
I wake up the same time everyday, regardless of any plans to sleep in.

June 1, 2022 at 10:05amWell, you have a dog to walk, so it’s understandable. I don’t mind waking up at 6AM if I do it spontaneously. It’s being FORCED to that makes me tired during the day.
