Y’all know I’m all eat up with Sun Wu Kong, the Monkey King. So, when Hulu threw out the suggestion of a 2013 Chinese movie called Journey to the West (the name of the book of Monkey’s adventures), you better believe I clicketty clicked on it.

The plot sounded nothing like Journey to the West:

Tang Sanzang, an aspiring Buddhist hero tries to protect a village from three demons. He develops complex feelings for Miss Duan, the demon hunter who repeatedly helps him, and finally quests to meet the legendary Monkey King.

So, not so much Journey to the West, but it promised me the Monkey King, so I watched it.

As I told Sara, it was funny and weird and kinda wonderful. I think I’m a little bit crushing on Stephen Chow. Crazy guy makes me all kindsa laugh.

The black is Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Black to Black, and the confetti is L.A. Color’s … wait for it … Confetti.The plaid came from Maniology’s M267 and the pumpkin from Maniology’s M164.
