Update

#writingprompt

So the hand surgeon removed this from deep within my hand.

That’s what, in technical terms, is known as PDB — Pretty Damn Big.

Since the holidays are coming up, I’ll probably not start blogging until the new year. Then I expect to be back to a quick post every day. I might throw something out between now and then, but it depends on how my whim strikes me.

Blessed and/or jolly winter holidays to one and all!

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Something large out of place.

About

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

WTF IS IT AND WHAT WAS IT DOING IN YOUR HAND? My little thumb lipoma was the size and shape of a cotton ball and the color of one dipped in butter. This looks like alien spawn. I’m glad it’s out of you and hope the surgeon left nothing of it behind! 🤗

It’s a little chunk of wood, left there from my fall in March. Wow, cotton balls are LARGE.

Oh my! Festering in there the whole time!? Makes me glad I demanded the doctor remove a little splinter from my son’s hand when he was little, rather than just giving up and letting infection develop to push it out

Good call. The weird thing is, it didn’t hurt. It just kept throwing out trauma reactions.

Cyst: cut out. Granuloma: burned off. Granuloma: burned off. Granuloma: cut out. Granuloma: cut out and wood extracted.

Since you commented anonymously, I don’t know who you are. lol If you worked for Dr. P and don’t anymore, I have a guess. There’s a contact form on this website you can use, in case you don’t have my email. We can keep in touch.

Man! That would have taken some years to work out. He-Man had gravel coming out of his arm for years after avoiding a collision with a car while cycling. I’m glad they got that hunk out of your hand. I hope you heal up faster now, and get back to posting and writing more.

The embedded gravel worked its way out over years? They never talk about that on BONES. They haven’t yet, anyway. That’s my current binge.

I am happy to hear that they got that hunk of wood out of your hand.

I’m not sure if Bones would have found it, but if she had, Hodgins would have linked it to a rare tree in the forest of Narnia.

Wow. Better out than in – you’re lucky it wasn’t worse!

That’s your ‘shrapnel’ story from now on.

How could /that/ not hurt???? Major hugs, and I hope this is the very last of the misery from that accident. Here’s hoping 2024 is a much better year.
