So the hand surgeon removed this from deep within my hand.

That’s what, in technical terms, is known as PDB — Pretty Damn Big.
Since the holidays are coming up, I’ll probably not start blogging until the new year. Then I expect to be back to a quick post every day. I might throw something out between now and then, but it depends on how my whim strikes me.
Blessed and/or jolly winter holidays to one and all!
A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Something large out of place.

December 21, 2023 at 3:25pmHow could /that/ not hurt???? Major hugs, and I hope this is the very last of the misery from that accident. Here’s hoping 2024 is a much better year.

December 20, 2023 at 7:56pmWow. Better out than in – you’re lucky it wasn’t worse!
That’s your ‘shrapnel’ story from now on.

December 21, 2023 at 10:02amI really am. If that infection had gotten into my bloodstream….

December 20, 2023 at 6:04pmI am happy to hear that they got that hunk of wood out of your hand.
I’m not sure if Bones would have found it, but if she had, Hodgins would have linked it to a rare tree in the forest of Narnia.

December 20, 2023 at 12:11pmMan! That would have taken some years to work out. He-Man had gravel coming out of his arm for years after avoiding a collision with a car while cycling. I’m glad they got that hunk out of your hand. I hope you heal up faster now, and get back to posting and writing more.

December 20, 2023 at 2:28pmThe embedded gravel worked its way out over years? They never talk about that on BONES. They haven’t yet, anyway. That’s my current binge.

December 20, 2023 at 8:16pmMaybe it doesn’t from bones just muscle?

December 21, 2023 at 10:03amAh, but Dr. Saroyan is the flesh forensic anthropologist. That would be a really cool diagnostic.

December 20, 2023 at 11:11amWTF IS IT AND WHAT WAS IT DOING IN YOUR HAND? My little thumb lipoma was the size and shape of a cotton ball and the color of one dipped in butter. This looks like alien spawn. I’m glad it’s out of you and hope the surgeon left nothing of it behind! 🤗

December 20, 2023 at 2:27pmIt’s a little chunk of wood, left there from my fall in March. Wow, cotton balls are LARGE.

December 20, 2023 at 7:00pmOh my! Festering in there the whole time!? Makes me glad I demanded the doctor remove a little splinter from my son’s hand when he was little, rather than just giving up and letting infection develop to push it out

December 21, 2023 at 10:02amGood call. The weird thing is, it didn’t hurt. It just kept throwing out trauma reactions.

December 21, 2023 at 10:41amTrauma reactions? What do you mean?

December 21, 2023 at 2:42pmCyst: cut out. Granuloma: burned off. Granuloma: burned off. Granuloma: cut out. Granuloma: cut out and wood extracted.
