I just got finished listening to Endurance: Shackleton’s Incredible Voyage, by Alfred Lansing. Although Shackleton didn’t do what he set out to do — cross Antartica on foot — he brought his entire crew (and one stowaway) through a set of disasters and risks amazing to hear. I may have to buy the book, because — oh, best beloved — I believe the book has maps!
I don’t know if it’s insult to injury or coals to Newcastle, but my nails this week are snowflakes:

December 18, 2023 at 2:21pmSeeing the nails makes me hope you’re closer to normal with your hands – and that is all behind you – and you will be very careful with my friend Marian who needs them to write, etc., with!

December 18, 2023 at 11:40amYour nail polish is gorgeous! Perfect for the winter season, although the snowflakes are so pretty that I would probably want them all year round!

December 18, 2023 at 9:28amLove the snowflakes, Marian! There is little to no snow where I live and the prediction for any before Christmas is not good. Cold today, but then it warms up and 40’s by the end of the week. I am like Dan…a little snow is nice, but Antarctica can stay away.
