Food Tuesday: Sourdough ‘Speriment

So I just started reading this book, Sourdough, by Robin Sloan. It’s too soon to say whether or not I like it as a whole, but I’m enjoying it so far. Below it is Volume I of The Story of the Stone, aka The Dream of the Rd Chamber, by Cao Xueqin, which I’m reading for the second time. So I definitely love that one.

ANYWAY, Sourdough inspired me to try to grow my own sourdough starter. This is it so far.

It’s already looking bubbly, and I just started it! 1/2 cup distilled water and 1/2 cup all-purpose flour. Country air and poor housekeeping for the win!

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

    Good luck with the sourdough. We’ve been down that road a few times, and we had some success. I do lve the taste.
