Thursday Doors: Old Stompin’ Grounds, South End

#ThursdayDoors #writingprompt

I went to Louisville to visit a couple of friends. I used to live in the south end of Louisville, and this wasn’t far from where I lived. The neighborhood looks very similar to the Portland area of Louisville (West end), where I lived before that.

Sweet houses, proud owners/renters.

This next one is iconic.

Thorobred Lounge

Thorobred Lounge is a historic gentlemen’s club located in Louisville, KY, offering an exceptional nightlife experience. … As Louisville’s longest operating strip club, Thorobred Lounge has been a favorite destination for locals and visitors alike.

YELP

It once employed a stripper with my favorite stripper name I ever heard: Bambi Deer.

Thursday doors is under the direction of Dan Antion, photographer extraordinaire and critter daddy. Visit his site, enjoy his wonderful photographs, follow his directions, and enter a world of doors.

About

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

Those are lovely houses. You employed a stripper? I think we need more on that one. No pun intended.

Hah! No, THEY employed a stripper! The only stripper I’ve ever seen in person was a a woman in her 80s who did a “strip” at church talent night. I think she removed her gloves and maybe a shawl.

OK, clarification noted. I know you have a lot of book sales events – I thought maybe I was missing something,

I think I’m missing something, too. Maybe I can hire a guy to dress like Shakespeare, and I can be his editor and tell him what to remove.
