Sunday Snapshot: The Price Is Almost Right!

#SundaySnapshot #writingprompt @thechestnutstreetmarket

My #2 Daughter gave me a gift certificate for the Chestnut Street Market in Corydon, Indiana for my birfday. Here is what I got, after a lengthy exploration of the wonderful offerings.

No-plastic-packaging shampoo, a pashmina #4 Daughter called “as soft as a cloud”, maple bacon onion spread, and (because Halloween movie Arsenic and Old Lace time is here) elderberry wine.

The gift certificate: $50.

The total purchase cost: $49.76.

The owner gave me a full quarter for change, and I put it in the “take some/leave some” change bowl.

She said she was going to buy for me, but decided to let me choose for myself. I always get her a gift certificate to a local quilting shop for the same reason. Sometimes a gift certificate is a lazy gift, but sometimes it’s the most thoughtful. I wore the pashmina to her house the last time I visited, and she complimented me on it, and I told her she had bought it for me! ๐Ÿ˜€
