So I finally saw BARBIE on Netflix. It had its moments, and I loved that it had just a few high-intensity, high-dancer musical numbers like Indian films do so well. America Ferrera’s speeches voicing the cognitive dissonance of what it means to be a woman in America (equally powerful ones could be made on the cognitive dissonance of being a man in today’s America — and was amply illustrated by Will Ferrell’s character and the contaminated Kens) — I lost my place. Oh, yeah, the speeches were well conceived and well-used. I think it might be better on a rewatch, actually.

My nails this week are very wintery, including a reference to my favorite Christmas movie. The base color is gray. I over-painted my accent nails with a temperature-sensitive polish, Silencio Bruno. I overpainted the others with a thick silver sparkle. I stamped with Bam! White and a deep red.
