Thursday Doors: Hopping

#ThursdayDoors #EdwardHopper #writingprompt

I’m still snowed in, so I raided Charlie’s art books for some doors. Edward Hopper painted a lot of structures from inside and from outside, so his paintings are rife with windows and doors, perspectives, views, outlooks, introspection, and regard.

Hopper is the artist of the iconic painting Nighthawks, which I adore, even though it unsettles me.

But these are some of his doors.

Corner door!
Even when you paint, there’s always a goddamned tree in the way.

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

I’m certainly glad he painted a corner door!

You’ve been snowed in for a while. I hope you get a break soon.

Thanks, Dan! It’s supposed to be above freezing today, tonight, and tomorrow, with rain, so I’m hoping to get out tomorrow before we drop below freezing again and are all icy. I have plenty of food, but a lot of it is pasta, potatoes, and white bread, which I’m supposed to limit right now. sigh Good thing I like a cooking challenge!

It looks like we’ll be getting your old weather starting tomorrow night. I hope you get out and are able to replenish the non-carbs

#4 and her AlmostMister are going to dig me a walking path to the top of the hill, and she’s going to try to get my car up there. If that succeeds, I’ll be able to get in and out, although my car will be icy freezing cold. God, I’m spoiled!

Be careful. I slipped on an icy patch two weeks ago. No permanent damage, but I knew I had fallen for a good long time.

I have a set of snow chains for my shoes (YakTrax). I have to take them off before I walk on a floor, but they’re great on ice and snow.
