I, like Eleanor Shellstrop, love dem shrampies. Shrimp, to non-aficionados of The Good Place.
The grocery had a buy one get one free sale on bags of frozen raw shrimp, and I jumped on that like … well, like Eleanor Shellstrop on shrimp. Sara hates them, so they’re mine all mine.
I made salt and pepper shrimp, in which I thawed some shrimp, dredged it in cornstarch mixed with salt and massive amounts of pepper, pan fried it in sesame oil, and served it over fried rice sprinkled with paprika.

My favorite, though, is with pasta the way my #4 DaughterMister made it for me.

Bring water to a boil. Add frozen shrimp. Bring water back to a boil. Add angel hair pasta and cook for about three minutes. Drain off almost all the water. Add butter and Parmesan and cook, stirring, until the water turns creamy and glossy.
OMG. So. Good. Look at them glistening little salt water cockroaches.
A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Yuck to somebody else’s yum.

April 9, 2026 at 4:42pmAngel hair pasta or rice? That’s a hard choice. I’m not sure I’d be able to choose, they both look so good.
