Thursday Doors: CoryDoors: Shaffer’s Again

#ThursdayDoors #writingprompt

Faithful readers may remember that I had to get all four of my tires replaced a few weeks ago and the axles aligned, but what you don’t know is that my car has been making a “funny noise”. Now, Nissan Versas are well known for making funny noises, but this funny noise was unfamiliar and it Bothered Me.

So I took the car to Shaffer’s, my new go-to car fix-it shop. Faithful readers my also remember that these are the folks who rescued me from the Jasper Ordeal.

I used to go to John D’s, which was across the street before Shaffer’s was there, but John D retired, so here we are.

was John D’s

Inside, I was heartened to see this sign, especially since it was next to a door.

If at first you don’t succeed, do what your wife told you to.

While I waited, I walked around a bit before it got to hot (this was at 8:00 am) and took pictures. This one was very patriotic, the 4th of July being just around the corner.

I also got a good shot of this tree by the courthouse door. I love this tree. “Why don’t you marry it?” Shut up, kids.

I’ll post a few more pictures from this jaunt next week. Now, I’ll just weep gently into my rags while I contemplate the bad news of having to pay $600 and the good news of having new oil and four good sets of brakes to replace the ones that were JUST ABOUT SHOT shortly before my trip to Indianapolis.

About

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

I hate unplanned car expenses, so I feel for you. At least now you can be safe on the road. I love the sign!!

Ouch. Brakes are expensive, but they come in handy when you need them. I’ll have to share that sign with my wife.
