Hey, there! I’m Tipper Allen, and guess what?
It was really rainy for days and days, and Momma closed the catio because the air through there was making the house all clammy. She said, before the house got air conditioning, their books used to get mold on them! She said that’s why they got air conditioning in the first place. She said living all surrounded by trees keeps it cooler than in the city, but it’s also a lot damper.
But it finally got dry and she opened the catio again. I was so happy to go out!
I was out there for a long time. I even stayed out when Adi came out. At least she was on another shelf, so I could leave when I wanted to.
Life is good when you’re one of Momma’s babies. Although I’m not a baby, I’m a big strong man cat!

June 12, 2026 at 5:28pmGlad you – and I – have AC. It’s clammy while it’s running, but I couldn’t stand humidity and heat here in sunny California – too fragile right now.
Just hanging in here – preparing for a disaster (we’re going on vacation – half of my stuff I need to survive won’t be there) – and waiting for a July 15 surgery date to fix things by removing a rogue parathyroid gland.
Wish it were over. I am less and less myself every day. It’s a weird feeling.

It’s hard to feel like yourself when you have to concentrate so hard just to get through moment to moment and not anticipate what’s on the horizon. I know you always deal with that, but it sounds like it’s extra intense right now.

June 8, 2026 at 9:07amHe would be happy to be out in the catio, which has a roof, in the pouring rain, but when it’s warm it makes the house clammy. We have a word here for that warm, stagnant humidity: We say “It’s close”. I can’t stand it being close in the house.
