I got to meet my wonderful internet friend Andrea Gilbey again! She came to visit Ginny Fleming, who is her Kentuckiana bestie, and who innerduced us.
And Andrea broughted me presents! Look!
How cool is that, right?
Me Gifts
That’s a calendar made from Andrea’s fantabulous photographs! And Hello Kitty stuff! A magnetic dress-up set, a box of Christmas mints, and, in the middle, a necklace made from a picture of Hello Kitty on a — yes — li’le me’al bo’le top! Because Andrea and Ginny (and, to a lesser but still discernable extent, I) are (am?) fans of Davy Jones of The Monkees and Davy couldn’t say “little metal bottle tops”, a quote from Flanders and Swann’s “Design For LIving”.
I adored The Monkees, but I liked Peter Tork and Mickey Dolenz in a constant teeter-totter of fannishness.
THANK YOU, ANDREA! You da bes’!
I’m posting today at Fatal Foodies about a vegan dish that rocked the house on Thanksgiving.
A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: Someone is given a totally appropriate and delightful gift.

I couldn’t decide between Peter and Mike. Mickey and Davey were the experienced professionals, though. They’d been in showbiz 4-evuh.
Creative recipe, grl. You are a very creative hostess and Mom.

December 2, 2014 at 11:53pmMy first concert was to see The Monkees with my parents when I was pretty little, like 7 or 8 kind of little. My sophomore year of high school we went again. When I brought a rose up to the stage–PETER TORK KISSED ME! No lie! 🙂
