Hot Sex #StoryADayMay #DealMeIn19

Today, my Deal Me In deck dealt me a heart, so I read one of Alicia Butcher Ehrhardt‘s drabbles (100-word stories). I highly recommend anything she writes.

Yesterday’s Story A Day prompt was to write a 100-word story, and today’s is to write in a genre you don’t usually use. My Monthly Hot Flashes are usually around half of that 100-word count, so I guess they’re half-drabbles. Drabs.

ANYWAY, so today, I’ll write a 100-word story in a genre I don’t usually write. I just have to think of one. Umm…. Okay, I finally thought of one. And I’m not counting the title.

Mimsy writhed beneath the muscular red demon as he plunged his throbbing pitchfork into her soft abyss.

“No,” she moaned, feebly pushing against him. “You’re setting me on fire!”

He ignored her protests. They always did.

A timeless passage later, he finished and left. She lit a cigarette from a spark lingering on her left nipple.

She winked at her neighbor, guzzling a craft beer under the eye of a leering green demon with a whip for a tail.

Demons are so literal. A smart rabbit claims to hate the briar patch.

That’s close enough to 100 words for folk music. I wrote the story in about ten minutes, but I’ve been an hour trying to sculpt the word count. It’s five o’clock somewhere. Or something.

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

I learned something important today: Demons are so literal.

    I did not know that.

    I WILL remember it.

    Still chuckling.

Don’t worry too hard about the word count for drabbles. When I get the 100 word count in Scrivener, and then paste the drabble into Wattpad, for example, the word count changes. Irritating, but we tend to take the algorithms at their count, without asking what do they count as a word. Just get close enough.

Thanks for the plug! I’m sitting here, getting started on writing. Words got added yesterday. More will today.

Well, in the old days, the Daemon ran the mainframe.
So maybe a Demon is easier on the couple?

I think that I’ll just quietly mosey on, now.

Well done. Looped in by the title, wondered, worried and then snap!
