Time to peruse the Live Wire, our local weekly paper’s call-in line. I don’t make these up, folks, I just take the printed call-ins and format them as poetry.
Turkey Trash
by Anonymous Caller
I got a complaint;
imagine that.
This is to
the turkey farmers
out there.
You can’t
trash them things up
out on 337,
Shiloh Road,
Pleasant Ridge Road.
How about
cleaning up the roads?
It looks pretty bad.
It looks like trash.
Can anybody
do anything
about this?
It
is
littering.

I’m posting today at Fatal Foodies about roasted squash seeds. Mmmmm!
A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: Write about trash. Or turkeys. Or trashy turkeys.

March 7, 2017 at 1:37pmThe caller didn’t specify. I like to imagine the latter, with the toms wearing torn t-shirts and the hens in Daisy Dukes.

March 7, 2017 at 9:15amShame on all the litterers. One street over from me is littery. I used to clean it up, I did. Sometimes Moo and me. Then I started to feel like people littered MORE, like I made it expected, like “Oh Joey will get it.” I don’t clean it up anymore.
