Tipper and the Monster #Caturday @StoryADayMay

Hi, there! I’m Tipper Allen, and guess what? Momma says I can write a story today, ’cause it’s Story A Day Man and it’s Caturday!

She giveded me a prompt and ’splained them to me, so here goes.

Tipper and the Monster

by Tipper Allen

The pioneers had to get across the country. Kitties in Indiana were counting on people to travel thousands of miles to get trouts and ducks to make kitty kibble just like the wild cats eat. Kitties in Indiana needed to grow up strong and active like big wild cats. Pioneers would make it happen.

The pioneers’ Conestoga wagons were big and heavy, and it took a team of twenty (20) mules to pull them. Nobody could handle twenty mules at a time except young but travel-hardened Tipper Allen, known to one and all as The 20-Mule-Team Handler.

Tipper swaggered up to the team. He flopped onto his side to show them who was boss, and the mules all backed into their harnesses so the Opposable Thumb minions could buckle them in. He leapt lightly onto the seat as if it was a mere kitchen table.

“Ebbybody better be ready to leave,” he said. “Okay, mules! Go!”

It all went fine until they got about halfway across The Great Borax Desert. It smelled funny, and it was really boring.

Then a big blue head popped out of a hole in front of them. It flickered a red tongue and said, “You have entered my lair! I am The Great Borax Desert monster, and I am going to eat all of you!”

It jumped out of the hole at them, and all the people cried. So did all the mules.

The monster was long and skinny, with sticky-out elbows and a blue tail. It scriggled really really fast.

The brave Tipper hopped down to meet it.

“Don’t be scared, people and mules! I will protect you!”

The monster smacked at Tipper. “You think you’re so brave and tough,” it said, real mean-like. “I’ll smack you silly.”

“No, you won’t!”

The battle began.

The monster charged. Tipper scrambled back, out of the way of its deadly claws and terrible sharp teef. Again and again, the courageous cat dodged and darted. The monster was huge and fast, but Tipper was fast, too, and he was white like the Borax, so the monster couldn’t see him except for the pretty gray streak on his head.

Tipper jumped all the way over the monster and landed on its tail. “Gotcha!”

The tail came right off!

The monster turned and snapped at Tipper’s tail.

Tipper was too fast for it, and caught it between his mighty jaws. It squiggled and struggled, but it couldn’t get away.

All the people cheered and gave him treats.

Tipper was the hero.

THE END

[Note from MA: Here is the actual “monster.” It was caught in the basement, was brought upstairs in triumph, was released onto the porch minus its tail and with one bite mark, and was gone in the morning.]

I’m pretty sure that after Tipper dispatched the monster, it shrunk to that size, having lost its superpowers. Go Tipper!

A giant mouse would have also met a nasty fate.

-giggles- Bravo, brave Tipper. That skink sure put up a ferocious fight, but you triumphed in the end. Just don’t try eating them, if you even come across one again. Not tasty. :/
