My friend Jane (Hi, Jane!) gave me a wonderful book by Jo Marchant called Decoding the Heavens, all about the Antikythera Mechanism. The Antikythera Mechanism is my new imaginary historical artifact boyfriend. It’s the earliest known analog computer, fabricated around 100-70 BC. Yes, BC. Fascinating book!

The Antikythera Mechanism is even older than I thought! This article from late 2014 dates it to maybe 205 BC! While you’re over there at Ancient Origins, poke around some. It’s fascinating!

Joey asked me if she’d told me one of her daughters had played with Black Violin. I had never heard of them, so I looked them up. Then I returned to her comment and was like: OMG!!!
