Well, the Days Of Forced Consumption are over for another year, and I hope everybody bought stock in antacids. I did well: I tend to browse, although too many good desserts are my caloric downfall.
Some people load up on one or two things, and then founder when they try to do a second plate. Amateurs.
I learned from my grandpa. When he got to where he couldn’t do a buffet line because he couldn’t safely balance himself and a plate, we would sit him down and ask the question he loved to hear, “What can I get you?”
His answer became the basis for The Grandpa Plate which I fill for myself now:
I’ll have a little bit of everything.

December 26, 2018 at 7:34pmI am almost that gal. ? Somebody better get me a motorized somethin’ so I can peruse the buffet and pick and choose. My downfall is hating to waste food I know I don’t like or won’t try cause there’s something else on the menu or buffet I know I’ll like better.
I do like Granpa’s plan though.

December 27, 2018 at 8:54amI hear you on wanting to pick your own foods at a buffet. I’m the same way. There are foods I like, but don’t want to waste the calories on them when there’s a food I LOVE further down the line. 😀
