How Do I Smell? #1LinerWeds

So Charlie and I were in the car, and I said, “Do you smell gas?”

He sucked in so much air, the car roof bowed inward a little, and said, “No.” Then he said, “You have a better smeller than I do.”

I appreciated that. My mother was a wonderful person, but she cut nobody any slack. If I smelled something and she didn’t, she wouldn’t credit me with having “a better smeller” than she had.

What would Mom have said, if I smelled something she didn’t?

Must be your upper lip.

You’re welcome! I had forgotten about it, until the “better sniffer” incident.
