Best Film I’ve Seen All Year #MondayRecommends and #Nails

#4 Daughter has shown me some excellent films, some good movies, and some fun flicks. #1 Daughter has recommended shows I’ve enjoyed. But the best I’ve seen this year has got to be Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. The phenomenally beautiful Viola Davis disappears into the character of Ma Rainey, “Mother of the Blues”. Chadwick Boseman puts in a riveting performance. There’s not a bad or indifferent second in the show.

You can see it on Netflix, and even if you don’t subscribe to Netflix, you can see the trailer.

That’s some brilliant playwriting, a brilliant screen adaptation, and unsurpassable performances.

From the sublime to the ridiculous, here are my silly nails. The Hello Kitty plate was a Christmas present from #4 Daughter:

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Write about a sweltering day.

About

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.
