Twofer From Mose #1LinerWeds

Today’s two-for-one one-liner comes from “Your Mind Is on Vacation” as sung by my imaginary white jazz singer boyfriend, Mose Allison.

The first is:

If silence was golden, you couldn’t raise a dime.

And the second gives the song its title:

‘Cause your mind is on vacation and your mouth is working overtime.

This post is part of Linda G. Hill’s weekly blog hop, One-Liner Wednesday. If you have a one-liner or just like them, follow the link.

Never had a musician boyfriend. The surprise of my life has been my husband joining me when I started a folk group here – I thought it was going to be my thing. Grateful for the support (and carrying of heavy books, an awkward guitar…).

Since the pandemic started, I haven’t done enough singing.

I had a musician boyfriend in college; he was in the orchestra. But he took me out to a restaurant and he was obnoxiously rude to the waiter, so I broke up with him. I have many IMAGINARY musical boyfriends, though: Dave Brubeck, Phillip Glass, Bobby Short, Paganini…. The list goes on. 😀

Glad your boyfriend showed you his true colors. I can’t imagine what someone is thinking when they do stuff like that. As I can’t imagine what an enormous number of Americans are thinking right now.

And I have a huge imagination!
