June 20, 2021 at 8:29pmThe house in Lindavista, Mexico City, where I grew up was surrounded by a high wall (every house was); on the top of ours were embedded broken glass shards.
It was hard, when I came to the States, to adapt to not having that protection.

June 21, 2021 at 11:25amOh, there are plenty of gated communities in Mexico City – it’s like entering the White House for security. The glass – it’s just the most basic level.
