About

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

The house in Lindavista, Mexico City, where I grew up was surrounded by a high wall (every house was); on the top of ours were embedded broken glass shards.

It was hard, when I came to the States, to adapt to not having that protection.

Many people here live in gated communities. Not quite broken-glass level, but still.

Oh, there are plenty of gated communities in Mexico City – it’s like entering the White House for security. The glass – it’s just the most basic level.
