I’m Really Rosie #MondayRecommends #NailArt

Something this weekend made me think of Really Rosie, a musical based on Maurice Sendak’s children’s books.

We all loved the half-hour television animation of it, and Charlie’s pet name for me became and remained Rosie. According to Charlie, I, like the Rosie in the show, was always trying to make boring days fun, and responded to the crushed feeling of getting a rejection on one of my stories by rallying and starting the submission process all over again.

Apparently, some scofflaw from another country has recorded the show off a VHS tape and put it up on YouTube. You can probably track it down, either the show or the Carole King album, but here’s the show. I recommend the album (which is, I found, available on Spotify!), because it has more songs than the television show.

ANYWAY:

My nails are very sparkly this week. The accent nail is supposed to look like a semiprecious stone, but a friend said it looked like a lightning strike, and I like that. So it is what it is. 🙂

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: What do you do when everybody screams and yells?

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

My deprived childhood- and obviously my children’s, too- never included this Sendak piece. (Likewise the Carol King singing…)And, are those other nails replete with blisters or just demonstrating photographic flukes

Not flukes, but holographic flakies. 😀 But blistered-looking “rain” nails are A Thing.
