Ready For Wednesday? I Am! Monday Recommends and Nail Art

What is Wednesday, you ask? Why, it’s International Monkey Day! Although it was started as a college prank, it is now utilized as a means to raise awareness of primate well-being or lack thereof.

Long-time readers of this blog know that anything relating to monkeys leads my mind and heart to Sun Wukong, The Handsome Monkey King. So guess what my nail art represents this week.

We have, of course, monkeys, fruit and flowers (because Monkey was King of Fruit and Flowers Mountain), his companions the pig-demon Pigsy and fish-demon Sandy, the dragon who was enchanted to serve as a horse, Monkey’s Auspicious Luminosity (the cloud on which he could fly), and goddess of mercy and compassion Guanyin, who oversaw the journey.

The base color is my very most favorite polish, Born Pretty’s Pink Planet (because rose gold is my very most favorite color). The leaves are Maniology’s Lilypad for the outline and Maniology’s Sour Apple for the reverse stamping. The black is, of course, Maniology’s Straight Up Black. I used four plates to assemble all the images.

Oh, and Sara calls her car The Auspicious Luminosity, because of course she does.
