One-Liner Wednesday: Here We Go Again

#OneLinerWednesday #writingprompt

A week from tomorrow is my next hand operation. The doctor is honestly great, and has tried to fix the problem with as little intrusion into my tissue as possible, but we’re both getting serious. She isn’t yet ready to adopt my prescription of pulling the pin on a grenade and holding it real tight, hence the operation. It made me think of this quote:

“There’s nothing wrong with you that an expensive operation can’t prolong.”
—Surgeon (Graham Chapman), Monty Python’s Flying Circus

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Something that can’t be gotten rid of.

I hope this one eliminates the problem. Is this the third (charm) time for this drill? In any case, I think you’ve done enough to prop up the healthcare economy in 2023.

They cut out a cyst, burned off a granuloma, cut out a granuloma, and now they’re doing a deep dive into my palm to see if they can find what the flipping hell is causing all this nonsense. Yeah, I have to do my bit for the economy. Last year it was breast cancer. It’s like jury duty.

I love that Monty Python quote. Best of luck with the operation and hope it does the trick this time. xo

No, the year I lost Charlie was a truly shitty year. Last year was breast cancer, and this year has been wrists/palm, and I’m like BRING IT.

So sorry – you must be getting awfully tired of a hurting hand you can’t use very well. Fingers crossed for this one to be IT.

Fortunately, it doesn’t hurt unless I press it. Operation on December 7th, and at least I can probably expect two or three weeks before it returns, if it does.
