One-Liner Wednesday: How Cute Is He?

#OneLinerWednesday #writingprompt

So #4 Daughter, the amazing Sara Marian, is taking osteology this semester of grad school. Naturally, I’m binge-ing BONES. Sara doesn’t want to watch it, because the skeletons often come into the forensic lab with goopy flesh on them, and she’s all about the bones.

I love most of the characters, but one of my favorites is the wild and wonderful Angela Montenegro. She has a way with words. The way she described a new guy, for instance.

He’s as cute as a monkey with a puppy!

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: An unusual description of cute.

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

I love Bones, and Angela is a great character. Don’t ask me to pick a favorite though. I can’t.

The woman who plays Cam, was offered a role on NCIS (after she was a guest star) but she turned it down for Bones!

She made a good choice. I loved the original ensemble cast of NCIS, but everybody lived in the shadow of the larger-than-life Gibbs.

Some writers would kill for a close relative with osteology experience! You’ve been blessed.

As far as the gore, I remember to tell myself that it is all fake, and the TV/movie people have WAY too much fun with it. Don’t know if that would help your daughter.

It might, if they didn’t have so much fun with eyeballs. She has an intense aversion to anything involving deliberately damaged eyes or disembodied eyeballs.
