One-Liner Wednesday: Inspiring

#OneLinerWednesday #failure #writingprompt

Pursuant to my repeated failures in cooking with sourdough starter, I embrace this quote:

“If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. Then quit. There’s no point in being a damn fool about it.” – W. C. Fields

This post is part of Linda G. Hill’s weekly blog hop, One-Liner Wednesday. If you have a one-liner or just like them, follow the link.

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Someone decides to quit.

About

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

    Then I’m a damn fool.

Any reasonable person would have quit months ago.

But I’m learning and glad I’ve spent all this time on a particular piece of research, because I have plans for some of the little details I love.

And, as I keep telling myself, what else would I do with this time? From my time on days when I simply can’t kick the brain on, I do NOT want to spend the rest of my life ‘entertaining myself’! I’d rather work, even if ‘work’ is the biggest euphemism possible.

Well, one can’t always take W.C. Fields’ advice. In fact, one SHOULDN’T take a lot of his advice. lol
