Thursday Doors: What I Had To Work With

#ThursdayDoors #writingprompt

I haven’t been much of anywhere except to the farmers’ markets, but I still managed to grab a few doors.

The Saturday market is held in the parking lot of a church. It used to be the church my grandparents went to after they moved here, but the congregation schized, or whatever you call it when there’s a schism in a congregation, and my grandparents went with the schizers. Then they made up and all moved to the new church the schismatics built and sold this church, which a different denomination bought.

ANYWAY, they have a new playground and a storage shed, and the storage shed has a door. At least two doors, actually.

They’ve also solved the problem of wanting the church to always be open to anyone standing in the need of prayer but not wanting the church open to vandals and thieves who aren’t in the praying mood.

Open 24/7. Plus, A BRIDGE!

Now, I think we can all agree that I watch and read too much crime fiction, but c’mon …. A truck with freezers in the back and that sign in the foreground? It practically writes itself.

Knife Sharpening

And, if you want to repent later, there’s a chapel just on the other side of a little bridge.

About

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

I wonder if that guy can sharpen the schizers.

    You got me laughing.

Sorry I’m late. I’m catching up slowly.

Knife sharpening and a big bunch of freezers? What on earth is Steffie up to now? Either that or there’s been a serious schism. Like when one body part is schized away from the rest.

    I love that little bridge!

I haven’t seen a knife sharpening vehicle in decades. I’m glad that at least one of them is still around.
