Chickie’s Monstrous Afternoon

by Chickie Allen

I little thought, when I rose that morning, that I would confront not one, but two monsters.

As I walked into the playing room, my faithful assistant, Colonel Mommy, opened a box for me. Alas! It was a portal to another, monstrous dimension! Before we knew it, there was a hideous monster on the floor!

Naturally, I stood near and attempted to make sense of its irregular growling and thrashing. Was it trying to communicate? Was it making threats? Was it in pain?

After a time, it ceased all noise and movement. I took that opportunity to examine it more closely.

Then Colonel Mommy made the foolish mistake of tapping it on what I took to be its head, and the thrashing began again.

This drew the attention of the monster who lives with us: The Floof Monster! I must give credit where credit was due; she was more than a match for the invader.

First, she stopped the thrashing, though not the growling.

Then, before I could warn her, she flopped upon the unknown monster’s head.

Perhaps it breathes through the top of its head, because her flopping atop it killed it. It ceased all noise and movement.

Colonel Mommy seemed neither cross nor delighted, although she did call The Floof Monster a “toy hog”.

The carcass is still where The Floof Monster left it. Perhaps it isn’t dead, as it seems as fresh as the moment it died. Perhaps we have more to see from it yet.

The End … ?

Your story is funny, Chickie, although I know you didn’t think so when it was happening. I’m glad the Floof Monster squashed this thing…or did she?

She squashes it, grabs the “mouse” and holds onto it, and sometimes pulls the “mouse” right out. I’m going to have to shut her into the catio so Chickie can play.

I’m so glad you and the Floof Monster stopped the yellow monster in its tracks. What does Colonel Mommy say? Will it rise again?

It rises repeatedly, and The Floof Monster always shows up to stop it in its tracks. Chickie has started to join in the battle — on The Floof Monster’s side!
