#ThursdayDoors #writingprompt
Friend and fellow writer Mildred Perkins went abroad and, like the dear she is, sent me some door pictures.
The first one is from Iceland, obvs.

The next one she said came from Tower Bridge. She didn’t SAY the one in London, so I’m making an ass of u and me, but that’s how I am. She said this door was the size of a Hobbit.

I don’t know where this next one came from.

I don’t know where this final one came from, either, but she said the building was constructed in 1450.

So thanks, Mildred! Your dedication and friendship are very much appreciated. MWAH!!
A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Blowing a kiss.

September 28, 2025 at 11:05amI love all the doors Marian. That first door from Iceland is superb. I love the amount of ornate craftwork done on the stiles (around the frame) Thank you for sharing and many thanks to your friend, Mildred’s kindness. Cheers.

September 28, 2025 at 7:36amI’m late to the party. Actually not as late as this comment makes it appear, but I couldn’t comment when I finally saw this post last night. I was on my iPad, and it would not do as it was told. Anyway, I love the doors. You have a very thoughtful friend, and one who recognizes great doors. It’s so cool to see doors that have been on their hinges longer than we’ve (non-natives) have lived on this continent. I added this link to the recap. Thanks for supporting the challenge, and thanks to Mildred!

September 25, 2025 at 1:21pmThanks for the wonderful doors, Marian (and Mildred)! How interesting that the door is Hobbit-sized. I know people back then were a lot shorter, but even with that in mind, it seems strange. I wonder what the purpose was. The Iceland door actually looks short to me too. Small or tall, they’re all wonderful. Hugs.

September 25, 2025 at 1:27pmI wonder about the small doors, too, but I’ve seen small doors in several different pre-modern-setting shows where people had to duck to go indoors. No reason why a door has to be tall enough to walk through, I guess. A smaller door would be cozier.
