So I watched the Ghostbusters reimagining with women rather than the original guys, and I loved it! That might be because I’m a woman and not an incel fanboy, but I think it’s because I watched the Ghostbusters movies as an adult and not as a child.
The original Ghostbusters movies were NOT KIDS’ MOVIES. People who watched them as children probably really enjoy the follow-up movies with Paul Rudd and descendants of the original guys, but I loathe them. They’re kids’ movies, made with kids in mind.
Ghostbusters: Answer the Call is a movie for grownups, and it’s smart and funny and very female in the best possible ways.
Highly recommended.
My nails are of skeletonized leaves, appropriately enough.
The base colors are red and browns, with fluid decals on the first and fourth fingers made of those red and brown base colors plus coconut. The stamping is done with red and Acorn.

Boo!
A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Fearless women.

October 19, 2025 at 6:32amI watched the original, wasn’t impressed enough to watch a sequel. Maybe I’ll skip the early sequels and catch up at the end. Cool nails

October 19, 2025 at 12:06pmIf you didn’t like the original, you probably wouldn’t like any of the sequels, including this one. It’s one of those fandoms you have to know ABOUT for pop-culture literacy, like I know ABOUT Conan and Rambo.

October 13, 2025 at 7:38amCool nails, I’ll have to show my daughters! As for Ghostbusters, I saw the original as a kid–good movie, but was it supposed to be scary? Best and Rock on,
Your Volcel Fanboy 😉

October 14, 2025 at 9:01amYeah, Ghostbusters was supposed to be creepy and threatening along with the humor and slapstick. Scarier for women, because a woman losing her agency and being puppeted into sexuality against her conscious will is an all-too-familiar fear. I would imagine it creeped out a lot of good men, as well, whether they understood why or not.
Your “un-obituary” was probably just what you hoped it would be: moving without being maudlin. Well done.
