Food Tuesday: Hot Brown Cordon Bleu a la King

So I had some leftover chicken breast and I had some leftover ham, and I had some bacon bits and some cheese, and I had some bread I could toast, so I made this.

It looks like the dog’s dinner, but it was DELISH!

Make a white sauce (1 Tablespoon butter per 1 Tablespoon flour per 1 cup milk — less milk for a thicker sauce). Add cheese. Add a metric fuck-ton of cheese (official measurement). Salt and pepper to taste. Add chunks of chicken, bacon bits, and ham. Add peas, if you want to, or herbs or other veg or whatever. Looks like I tossed a few capers in there. Sara and I like capers. Nothing like a few nastyturtium buds to add a pop of flavor.

Serve hot over toast.

That looks very good. I am drawn to dishes that look like that, especially when it’s all good stuff.
